🔼 Road Test. Looking for the first win of the season, Troy football heads to Kinnick Stadium to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday at 3 p.m. The matchup is the first between the two schools and Troy's first against a Big Ten opponent since a 24-19 victory at Nebraska in 2018. The Trojans have rolled out one of the nation's youngest and most inexperienced teams through the first two weeks, with 16 players having made their first career starts at the FBS level, the second most in the country. Troy's ground attack has churned up 100-yard games twice to open the season behind the legs of Gerald Green and Damien Taylor, with the latter leading the Trojans in both games.

🔼 Stacking Up Accolades. Coming off a second-place performance at the Green Wave Invitational, Troy's Laura Fangmeyer has been named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golfer of the Week. Fangmeyer, Troy's first women's golfer of the week since 2022, fired the fifth-lowest round in program history, with a 5-under 67 in the final round on Tuesday to propel herself to a second-place finish and Troy to a third-place finish.

🔼 Broomsticks. Troy volleyball had its best performance of the season, cruising to a 3-0 sweep of The Citadel to secure its first home win in Trojan Arena. Troy, improving to 4-3, dominated on offense for all three sets, and The Citadel had no answer on defense. The Trojans hit a staggering clip of .389, the best mark of the year, and also the best mark since Troy hit .394 in 2019. Amiah Butler led the way again for the Trojans with a match-high 16 kills on .429 hitting. This is Butler's third consecutive match with 11 or more kills, and over that stretch, she is hitting .409 with 43 kills.

🔼 One Step Closer. Troy cross country gears up for its second meet of the season today with the running of the Southern Showcase, looking to use its momentum from top-five finishes on both sides. The men start the meet at John Hunt XC Running Park at 9 a.m. with the 8k against 52 teams, followed by the women's side (5k) at 10 a.m., who face 56 opponents.

🗣️ "As far as the meet goes, it should be an excellent early season test for us. Many of our returners have experience on the course, so we can take advantage of a known entity.” - Brian Cunningham, head coach

🔼 Knotted Up. The Trojan soccer team had its first draw of the season, tying Jacksonville 2-2 to close out non-conference play. Troy had its most efficient offensive performance of the season, tying a season-high with six shots on goal on seven shots, as both Delaney Wells and Georgia Mulholland found the back of the net. Up next, Troy opens Sun Belt play on Friday, September 20 in a match against ULM with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is former Trojan, Brandon Lockridge. After a productive season in Triple-A, the former Troy outfielder received the call to the big leagues on Wednesday when the San Diego Padres promoted him to their active roster. Lockridge is the tenth former Trojan to make it to The Show and the first to debut in the bigs.
