📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Trophy Town. Troy men's golf didn't waste any time getting into the win column this season as the Trojans shot 7-under to win the Argent Financial Classic held at Squire Creek Country Club. The team’s first win since the spring of 2023 came thanks to stellar play from student-athletes such as Nick Fowlkes and Jason Quinlan. Fowlkes turned in his best performance in a Troy uniform, carding an 8-under 208 while Quinlan carded a top-ten finish with a closing 1-under par round.

🔼 Brought Out The Broomsticks. The Troy volleyball team picked up its first sweep of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Alabama State on the road, 3-0. The Trojans dominated all three sets en route to its first victory in over a week, snapping its three-match losing streak. Tori Hester had her most efficient offensive showing of the season, recording a match-high 12 kills on 19 attempts for a .526 hitting percentage. Jordan Sinness and Janelle Stuempfig split the setting duties and helped the Trojans' offense generate 13 kills per set. Sinness had a team-high 17 assists, with Stuempfig added 13. 

🔼 Terrific Trio. Trojan women’s golf secured a top-three finish at the Green Wave Invitational with a 19-over performance from Troy’s five golfers. Leading the way was Lauren Fangmeyer who claimed a second-place finish. The Trojans rounded out a solid second tournament showing with Victoria Stutts (+4) and Alyssa Mercado (+5) who each finished in the top ten on the leaderboard.

🔼 Fall Ball. The Troy baseball program announced on Monday that it will play two exhibition games in October during its fall season. During football’s bye week, the Trojans will welcome junior college powerhouse, Northwest Florida State for a 5 p.m. matchup on Friday, October 18. Then on Sunday, October 27, the Trojans will travel to Jackson, Tenn., to face the defending national champion Tennessee Volunteers.
