🔼 Runnin’ Wild. Troy cross country went back-to-back with a near-perfect meet at the Azalea City Classic Friday night at Blakeley State Park, as the men won the 5K with 26 points and the women earned the runner-up title in their 5K with 45 points.
The Trojans go back-to-back for the first time in recorded history as the men claimed their first team win at the Azalea City Classic – the women's side won in 2020.
The men’s squad had three top five finishes, with Riley Treadaway leading the pack and earning runner-up honors individually with a time of 15:15.96 and a new personal best. Patterson Graham (15:28.91) also gained a new personal record while placing fourth, and Caden Blackman (15:32.40) followed close behind for fifth.
The women's team also duplicated their overall results from last week, earning silver in the team standings. Winny Kosgei (18:29.08) and Abby Jepkemboi (18:59.22) both earned personal bests and placed in the top ten for the Trojans, finishing third and eighth, respectively.
🔼 In The Hunt. A trio of Trojans shot under-par, and Troy carded a 2-under as a team in Sunday's opening round of the Argent Financial Classic.
Troy sits in second place, just a shot behind host Louisiana Tech, following the first of three rounds. The Trojans' 2-under marks their fourth straight team round under-par to open the season.
Thomas Crane, Jack Lowery and Pablo Gracia are all tied for eighth at 1-under par.
🔼 Sun Belt Split. Troy Volleyball opened Sun Belt play by earning a home split with Lousiana, including a dominant 3-0 sweep in Friday’s opener.
The Trojans nearly completed a reverse sweep of the Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday, but fell just short in five sets.
Kalina Calvillo (31 kills) and Isa Ruether (23 kills) combined to lead the Trojan attack.
🔼 Forever A Legend. The winningest Troy women's basketball head coach, Chanda Rigby, officially joined the Pensacola State Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026 on Thursday for her historic seven-year tenure (2005-12) that included a pair of NJCAA Tournament Final Four appearances, Panhandle Conference titles and FCSAA Coach of the Year Awards.
Already a member of the Florida College System Activities Association Sports Hall of Fame in the Class of 2024, Rigby coached at Pensacola State from 2005 to 2012. While a Pirate, she compiled four straight 20-plus-win seasons from 2008-12 for a 142-63 record, including a near-perfect 34-1 record in 2010-11.
She transformed Pensacola State from a nine-win team in her first season (2005-06) to a 20-plus-win team in 2008-09 and earned 24 wins the following season with a berth in the FCSAA Tournament.
