🔼 How Sweep It Is. Troy Volleyball put together a perfect weekend at the Trojan Invitational, sweeping all three opponents at Trojan Arena without dropping a set.

The Trojans opened with a 3-0 win over Murray State (25-18, 25-19, 25-18), followed with another sweep of The Citadel (25-17, 25-18, 25-12), and finished the weekend by taking down Northwestern State (25-12, 25-22, 25-22).

Troy was efficient on both sides of the net throughout the tournament. Ashlynn Axtell finished the weekend with 32 kills while hitting better than .400 in all three matches, while Kalina Calvillo reached 100 kills for the season during Saturday's finale. Freshman Isa Ruether also delivered a career-high 13 kills while hitting .400 against Northwestern State.

As a team, Troy hit .368 against Murray State, .275 against The Citadel and .298 against Northwestern State, giving the Trojans plenty of momentum before opening conference play at home against Louisiana on Sept. 25 and 26.

🔼 Put Him On Notice. Troy held #20 Missouri to the fourth-fewest yards ever by an SEC opponent against a Sun Belt team, but the Tigers capitalized on two turnovers and a punt return for a touchdown to thwart the upset-minded Trojans, 27-17, Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
 
Troy led 10-0 after the opening 15 minutes before Missouri scored 24 of its 27 points in the second frame.

The Trojans held Mizzou to just 230 yards of total offense; the fewest by the Tigers since 222 yards against Kansas State on Sept. 10, 2022. It was the fewest by a P4 opponent against Troy since Arkansas only recorded 125 yards in 2002.

🔼 Runnin’ Wild. Both Troy cross country squads earned top-two team finishes at the Montevallo Falcon Classic on Friday night.

On the men’s side, the Trojans claimed its first victory since 2016 behind two top-five finishes from Riley Treadaway (second-place) and Lane Watson (fifth-place).

On the women’s side, Troy earned second place thanks to three top-20 finishers. Newcomers, Winny Kosgei (4th – 19:03.40), Abby Jepkemboi (12th – 19:34.10) and Pheline Mining (16th – 19:53.00) all ran personal bests.
