🔼 Hey Now, He’s An All-Star! This is what you call a breakout year.

Former right-hander Benny Thompson was electric out of the bullpen this spring for the Class-A Inland 66ers out of the Los Angeles Angels organization. For his performance, he was named a Minor League Postseason All-Star. 

In 44 appearances, Thompson tossed 61.1 innings with a 4-2 record and 11 saves. He held a 1.91 ERA with 100 strikeouts in those 61 innings of work.

🔼 On The Road Again. Troy head coach Gerad Parker told his team in the locker room following last Saturday's game that the upcoming week was a pivotal one in terms of preparation for the Trojans' final non-conference game of the season, a matchup with Buffalo on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. (CT). The game will broadcast on ESPN+.
 
Troy lost starting quarterback Goose Crowder on its fourth offensive snap of the game last week, an injury that will cost the redshirt-junior several weeks; Crowder played in just 11 quarters last season before an injury ended his year. Junior quarterbacks Tucker Kilcrease and Ui Ale are both expected to see time under center this weekend against the Bulls.

A point of emphasis for the Trojans throughout the offseason was forcing turnovers, after they managed just nine last year. The tally is already at four through the first three games and each has resulted in points, including a pair of defensive scores the past two weeks.

Troy's defensive unit held serve as much as it could last week, holding the Tigers to points on just four of 12 possessions, despite being on the field for nearly 37 minutes.  

🔼 Court Is In Session. Two more programs join the athletic calendar this weekend for the Trojans as both Troy tennis squads hit the courts for the first time this fall.

First up is the women’s team who open their season at the Samford Fall Invitational for the third consecutive season.

Tomorrow, the men’s squad takes on the regions best at the ITA All-American Championships, hosted in Tulsa, Okla.
