📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Hardware Haul. Hopefully there’s enough space in the luggage for a little extra hardware for the Troy women’s golf team.

The Trojans rallied past UNC Asheville on the final day of The Velvet Classic to claim the team title, and freshman Constanza Quiroga climbed seven spots up the individual leaderboard to take the top spot.

Troy entered the day two shots behind the Bulldogs at the top of the leaderboard; however, behind Quiroga's 1-under, including birdies on three of her final five holes, Troy clipped UNC Asheville by a shot to win a team title for a third consecutive season.

The Trojans led the field in par-3 scoring, par-5 scoring and pars, while finishing second in par-4 scoring and fourth in birdies. Quiroga closed the week with seven birdies, tied for eighth-most in the field, but had just nine bogeys or worse on the week, the second-fewest.

🔼 Desert Bound. You might think that the desert isn’t the most ideal setting for fruit to grow, but that’s not the case.

Former Trojan standout Zach Fruit will be doing exactly that this offseason as he’s been selected to participate in the prestigious Arizona Fall League as part of the Orioles organization.

Fruit is one 13 former Troy standouts who are showing out in the professional baseball ranks.

🔼 Marching On. The Trojans are back on the road this weekend as they head north to battle the Bulls of Buffalo in the non-conference finale for both programs.

Troy is looking to bounce back and head into Sun Belt play with momentum.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, of course, freshman sensation Constanza Quiroga, who took home the invitational title at The Velvet Classic in Paducah, Ky.

Quiroga pulled out in front of the field by a shot after birdies on 14 and 15, but a double on 16 put her a stroke back of the leaders. Following a par on the 17^th , she birdied the 479-yard, par-5 18^th to force a four-woman playoff. The true freshman birdied the opening playoff hole (No. 18), to make it birdies on four of her final six actual holes played
