🔼 Opening Act. A whole new season is upon the Troy women’s soccer program.

Sun Belt action began on Sunday for the Trojans, who fought their way to a point in a scoreless defensive battle with Arkansas State.

Goalkeeper Taylor Richards was outstanding, notching a career-high eight saves, including two in the final ten minutes to hold onto the shutout. It was the third shutout of the season for the Auburn transfer, who is now tied for the Sun Belt lead in shutouts while also leading the conference with a .714 goals against average.

Troy posted a season-high in corner kicks (12), including seven in the first 15 minutes, but was unable to capitalize. 

🔼 ProTrojans. Four former Trojans saw action with their NFL squads on Sunday with three Troy alums and their teams earning victories.

Dell Pettus had two tackles to help his New England Patriots to a road victory over Miami, while Javon Solomon (Bills) and Reddy Stewart (Cowboys) both earned snaps in their squad’s wins.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is junior goalkeeper Taylor Richards, who notched her third shutout of the season in Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Arkansas State. In the contest, Richards registered a career-best eight saves to earn a conference point for the Trojans.
