📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Stingin’ Em. Troy football improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2013 with a convincing 34-17 victory over Alabama State on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Trojans wasted little time taking control, scoring on five of their first six possessions and building a 31-7 halftime advantage.

Jaheim Merriweather powered the offense with 127 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 69-yard score, while Goose Crowder threw for 201 yards. Crowder connected with TK Keyes for a 73-yard touchdown to open the scoring, and Keyes finished with five catches for 119 yards.

🔼 Finishing Strong. The Troy soccer team wrapped up nonconference play with a strong showing against Alcorn State on Sunday, earning a 3-3 draw behind Irene Torres’ first career brace.

Torres’ two goals were the first two of her career and Alaina Uncapher fired home a penalty kick in the closing moments to earn the point for the Trojans.

Taylor Richards was outstanding in goal for Troy, racking up eight saves, marking her fifth straight match with five or more saves.

🔼 Super Saini. Troy's Manya Saini took home the first Sun Belt Women's Golfer of the Week honors, the league office announced late last week.

Saini, a fourth-year player for the Trojans, shot 1-under and finished fourth in the season-opening Golfweek Fall Challenge.

A native of Ahmedabad, India, Saini carded a 5-under 66 in the tournament's opening round, marking her third sub-par round over a five-round stretch dating back to last season. She led the field with 12 birdies.

🔼 Sunday Showout. Another NFL season is underway and once again, the Troy Trojans have alums all over the league.

Javon Solomon had the biggest day of week 1, tallying three tackles in Buffalo’s critical road win over AFC contender Houston.

In the same game, Jake Andrews made his 18th career NFL start on the Texans’ offensive line.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is third year running back Jaheim Merriweather, who piled up a career-high 127 yards on the ground in just his second game with the Trojans after transferring in from Purdue. He found the endzone three times in Saturday’s victory over Alabama State.
