🔼 Finishing Strong. The Troy football squad sent The Vet into a frenzy on Saturday night with an electric 28-point fourth quarter to defeat visiting Nicholls, 38-20, in the season opener.

Quarterback Goose Crowder threw three touchdown passes and added a rushing score as the Trojans extended their winning streak over the Colonels to five games. Tae Meadows was dominant on the ground for Troy, finishing with 186 yards and a TD.

Linebacker Jordan Stringer and nose tackle Luis Medina led a defense that has now held opponents under 100 rushing yards in four straight games. Transfers Donnie Smith and Jaquez White each delivered key plays, with Smith registering his first Troy sack and White notching his first interception at the FBS level.

🔼 Sunday Funday. The Troy football squad wasn’t the only ones who finished strong this weekend as the Trojan soccer program used two second half goals to grab a hard-fought 2-1 victory over visiting Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, the Trojans (4-2-0) broke through in the 49th minute on an own goal, as a Jacksonville defender deflected Megan Hamm's pass intended for Jiselle Daniels into the net. Just three minutes later, Daniels doubled the advantage with her Sun Belt-best seventh goal of the season, finishing a pass from freshman Isabella Hartofelis, who picked up the first assist of her career.

The Trojans remain a perfect 3-0-0 at the Troy Soccer Complex this season and have surrendered just one goal at home this season. 

🔼 Off And Running. The Troy cross country squads opened their 2025 seasons this past weekend with strong performances at the JSU Foothills Invitational.

On the men's side, junior Caden Blackman led the Trojans with a 12th-place finish at 15:25.10, beating last season's mark by five positions and nearly 20 seconds.

For the women, senior Makenna Calbert paced the squad with a 20th-place showing in 18:38.10.
