🔼 Opening Act. The wait is over — Troy Volleyball is officially back!
The Trojans open the 2026 season with a full weekend of action inside Trojan Arena, hosting the Troy Invitational. First serve comes Friday night at 6 p.m. against Mercer, followed by a Saturday afternoon showdown with North Alabama at 4 p.m. and a Sunday finale against Alabama State at 2 p.m.
Head coach Josh Lauer begins his 10th season leading the Trojans, who enter 2026 hoping to build off a strong finish to last fall that saw them win four of their final five regular-season matches and advance in the Sun Belt Tournament.
🔼 Talkin’ Ball. Troy's weekly coaches show, Trojan Talk, returns Monday, live from Baumhower's Victory Grille in Troy, with football head coach Gerad Parker and Voice of the Trojans Barry McKnight previewing Troy's season opener against Sam Houston.
Baumhower's features wall-to-wall TVs throughout the restaurant and will offer 81-cent wings and $2.99 pints of Trojan Ale, along with its other daily specials each week during Trojan Talk. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for prizes given out throughout the show.
In addition to Parker, McKnight will be joined live during the show by Troy football players, Director of Athletics Kyle George, and various other Troy head coaches.
🔼 Raising The Bar. Historic runs by both the Troy men's basketball and baseball programs in 2026 generated extraordinary brand recognition for Troy Athletics, Troy University and the Troy community, fueled by the programs' trip to March Madness, defeating Miami and Florida in the Gainesville Regional, the hosting of the Troy Super Regional and the first-ever appearance in the College World Series.
Accounting for men's basketball's Sun Belt Tournament championship and matchup with Nebraska in March Madness, plus baseball's play in the Sun Belt Tournament, victories in the Gainesville Regional and Troy Super Regional, and three games in Omaha, Troy Athletics generated $1.121 billion in Advertising Value Equivalency, according to a report from Meltwater, an online media, social, and consumer intelligence company that partnered with Troy and the Sun Belt.
We are 1️⃣0️⃣ Days Away From Kickoff, Trojan Fans!
Marcus Jones burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2017, becoming Troy’s first All-American in a decade after earning Phil Steele All-America Third Team honors as a kickoff returner.
The Enterprise, Ala., native averaged 30.31 yards per return and set a school record with three kickoff return touchdowns, including two in a win at Coastal Carolina to tie an NCAA record. His return average ranked eighth nationally and first among freshmen.
Jones made an impact on defense as well, returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in Troy’s Sun Belt title-clinching victory at Arkansas State after opening the scoring with a 99-yard kickoff return. He finished the season as the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and earned Freshman All-America honors from both the Football Writers Association of America and ESPN.
