🔼 Rampin’ It Up. With just over two weeks until the 2025 season opener, training camp is rampin’ into high gear for the Troy football team.

The Trojans are entering their final stage of summer camp with the season opener against Nicholls just 15 days away.

🔼  And We’re Off. The 2025-26 Troy athletic calendar is officially underway as the Troy soccer squad hit the pitch on Thursday, dropping a tough 2-0 road decision to Murray State.

Junior transfer Taylor Richards made her Trojan debut with six saves in the contest.

🔼 They’re Baccckkk. With class back in session, so is the grind as the reigning Sun Belt Champions returned to the court preparing for the 2025-26 season coming this November.

Just 1️⃣5️⃣ Days To Kickoff, Trojan Fans!

In the record books, it may seem like a meaningless 1️⃣5️⃣-1️⃣5️⃣ tie in 1973.

But for Troy, it’s history.

You see, that 1973 showdown at ULM was the first official game as full-time Trojans for Troy University.

The Troy athletic teams have had a variety of names through the years - from Bulldogs to Teachers to Red Wave.

The Red Wave moniker stuck until 1973, when the student body was again charged with voting for its new team nickname. The first game of the season in 1973 was on the road against ULM. The squad departed Troy without a nickname, but students voted on the nickname that Saturday morning. The winner? Trojans.

The current nickname won the election by a two-to-one margin, with the ballots being tallied hours before kickoff.
