🔼 Forever Remembered. Troy basketball standout Emil Jones will be inducted into the Pearl River Community College Athletics Hall of Fame later this month. Jones, who made one of the biggest shots in program history, spent his junior and senior seasons with the Trojans after transferring from PRCC. After turning down offers from DI programs to pursue football, Jones went on to earn accolades on the court in his final season with Pearl River, scoring 18.3 points and grabbing 7.9 rebounds en route to All-MACJC and All-Region 23 selections.
🔼 USA! USA! Troy baseball was well represented during the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team's International Friendship Series last week, with catcher Brooks Bryan and head coach Skylar Meade playing pivotal roles in USA's five-game sweep of Chinese Taipei.
🗣️ "Team USA was an experience for the ages. The food, environment, first-class treatment, high-level players and camaraderie certainly couldn't be beat. But above all, being able to don the red, white, and blue was as great an accomplishment as I have had in my 17 years of coaching." - Skylar Meade
🔼 New In Town. Joining the Troy men’s basketball roster for the 2024-25 season is Evan Grffin, an incoming freshman.
🗣️ "Evan lives right down the road and had an outstanding senior season. He is a very versatile basketball player that can defend multiple positions because of the combination of his size, strength and athleticism. Evan is an "OKG: Our Kind of Guy”!” - Scott Cross, head coach
The 6-foot-9 forward is coming off a senior season where he averaged 25.6 points, 14.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocks and was named to the 2023-24 First Team All-State in 4A. He was also a finalist for the AHSAA Class 4A Boys Player of the Year Award.
