🔼 State Of The Nation. What’s been happening this summer? How are the Trojans handling the changing landscape of college athletics? Anything exciting on the horizon?

All of that and much more are in the latest episode of Trojan Talk as Barry McKnight sits down with Director of Athletics Brent Jones to talk all things Trojans.

🔼 Path To The Pros. And let’s make it five.

Troy baseball alum Colby Frieda became the fifth former Trojan to join the professional ranks this week after signing a free-agent contract with the New York Mets on Thursday.

Frieda, a senior from St. John's, Fla., spent one season in the Cardinal & White after transferring from Kentucky, making a team-leading 25 appearances out of the bullpen in 2025 while posting a 3-2 record with four saves.

In 45.1 innings, Frieda struck out 53 hitters to just 19 walks and held his opponents to a .224 batting average, ranking ninth in the Sun Belt Conference with 10.52 strikeouts per nine innings (min. 40 IP).

Frieda is the fifth member of the 2025 Trojans headed to professional baseball. He joins Kansas City Royals eighth-rounder Brooks Bryan, Chicago Cubs 15th-rounder Noah Edders, Athletics 18th-rounder Jay Dill and Minnesota Twins free agent Adam Falinski
