We are 6️⃣8️⃣ Days Away From Kickoff, Trojan Fans!

Troy’s first-ever National Championship on the gridiron came thanks to this 196️⃣8️⃣ squad.

Led by a potent aerial attack on offensive and a stifling defensive effort, the then-called Red Wave rolled to an 11-1 record, while piling up four shutouts on the year.

Offensively, Troy averaged 43.3 points per game, which included a 43-35 victory over Texas A&I in the national championship game.

🔼 All-American Guy. The postseason honors continue to roll in for Jimmy Janicki.

D1Baseball named the Troy catcher a Second Team All-American late last week. It's the third All-America honor for Janicki, who was also named a Second Team All-American by Perfect Game and a Third Teamer by NCBWA.

The Sun Belt Player of the Year was among college baseball's most productive hitters this season. He finished the 2026 campaign among the nation's leaders in RBIs (2nd - 87), hits (5th - 97), doubles (5th - 26th), total bases (5th - 188) and home runs (25th - 21).

Janicki's 87 RBIs and 188 total bases both set new single-season records at Troy. He also made Trojan history as the first player at Troy to hit 20 doubles and 20 home runs in a season, and was one of four players in the country to do so in 2026, along with Arizona State's Landon Hairston, Mississippi State's Ace Reese and Texas A&M's Caden Sorrell.

🔼 Fresh Faces. Troy soccer has finalized its 2026 roster with the addition of five transfers, head coach Jake Wyman announced over the weekend.

The class features a pair of Power Four transfers and adds experience at every position on the field. 

"We're ecstatic to finish our first recruiting class with some quality transfers," Wyman said. "Our staff worked our socks off to assemble an impactful recruiting class and we are eager to see that impact in a few weeks!"
