🔼 Bashin’ Blake. No better time to go through a power surge than this time of year.

That’s exactly what Blake Cavill has done for the Troy Baseball squad as he posted his second consecutive multi-HR game to lift the Trojans to an 11-3 victory over South Alabama in Troy’s Sun Belt Tournament opener.

Cavill finished 3-for-4 with two HRs, four runs scored and two RBIs on the day.

On the mound, the trio of Tommy Egan, Zach Crotchfelt and Dylan Alonso combined to allow just one earned run and five hits, while striking out six in the win.

🔼 Punchin’ Tickets. The season just got extended a little longer for four Troy Track & Field standouts.

On Thursday, four Trojans earned tickets to the the NCAA East First Round, as Jasai Taylor (400m hurdles), Shanyah Washington (100m), Rachel Whyte (400m), and Aaliyah Murphy (400m hurdles) are all set to compete May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky. 

Following the opening round, the top 24 athletes in each event will advance to the quarterfinals, scheduled for May 29-30. The top 12 finishers from the quarterfinals will earn spots at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., set for June 10-13.

🔼 Going Global. The Troy men’s hoops squad went global for its newest addition to the 2026-27 season.

This week, the Trojans announced the addition of incoming freshman Romain Valakou.

Valakou comes to the United States following a season with BCM Gravelines Dunkerque U21 in France. He finished as the second-leading scorer in the Espoirs ELITE League, averaging 20.5 points per game this past season. 

The 6'4" guard also pulled down 5.4 rebounds per game while adding 3.6 assists per contest. 

🏀 Meet The Newest Trojan

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, for the second time this week, Blake Cavill, from the baseball squad. The veteran first baseman launched two HRs in Troy’s opening round win over South Alabama on Thursday at the Sun Belt Tournament.
