🔼 Bye, Bye, Bye. Early and often, that was Troy Baseball’s motto in the series opener at ULM on Thursday night as the Trojans scored five runs in the first two innings en route to a 6-4 victory over the Warhawks.

With the victory, Troy secures a first day bye at next week’s Sun Belt Tournament in Montgomery.

Offensively, senior Josh Pyne led the way with two hits on the evening, including his seventh HR of the season.

On the mound, southpaw Benjamin Stubbs picked up his fourth victory of the season, tossing 5.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out five.

🔼 And They’re Off. Day one of the Sun Belt Championships wrapped up on Thursday for the Troy Track & Field squad and two Trojan records came tumbling down.

Jasai Taylor shattered the 18-year-old men's 400m hurdle record in 51.00 to finish second overall in the prelims and advance to the finals in the event.

Aaliyah Murphy ran 58.51 in the women's 400m hurdles to set a new program record for the third time this season and advances to Saturday with the fastest time in the prelims.

🔼 Region’s Finest. This season, the Troy Softball program collected its fourth straight 30-plus win season.

Two of the leaders of this year’s squad were honored this week as Ella Cunningham and Makaley Boswell both earned NFCA All-Region accolades.

Cunningham was named to the second team, while Boswell was on the third team.

"It comes to me as no surprise that both Ella and Makaley have earned all-region recognition; it is well deserved," Newell said.

🔼 Fresh Face. Troy women's basketball, led by head coach Chanda Rigby, adds its eighth newcomer for the 2026-27 roster via Riana Callihan from Miami Dade College.

With Miami-Dade, Callihan started 21 of her 29 games, averaging eight points, eight rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.8 blocks.

The St. Petersburg, Fla. native became the third transfer and eighth overall signing for the 2026-27 season, joining Hannah Smith, Jamonica Chambers, Aniya Finger, Kimora Hughes, Maliyah Meeks, Taliah Martin, and Tiauna King for the newest class.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is senior Josh Pyne, who went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored in Troy’s series-opening victory at ULM on Thursday night. Pyne had two extra-base hits on the night including his 19th double of the season and his seventh HR of the year.
