🔼 Rally At Riddle. This time of year, every series gets bigger and bigger. This weekend at Riddle-Pace Field is no different.

Troy is set to open up a seven-game homestand later today against App State. Both teams currently sit in the top-four in the league standings with only three Sun Belt series left on the schedule. Today’s game is now slated for 1 pm, followed by a Saturday matchup at 3:33 and Sunday finale at 12 pm.

The Trojans won all four of their Sun Belt series in April against Arkansas State, Texas State, Louisiana and, most recently, Marshall.

🔼 Ticket Punched. For the fourth straight season, the Troy softball team is headed to the Sun Belt Tournament.

A four-run third inning and a complete game from Ella Cunningham powered the Trojans to a 4-2 win over Coastal Carolina and clinched a spot in next week’s postseason.

Cunningham held a powerful Coastal Carolina offense in check, striking out five in her third complete game this year. She retired 13 straight batters from the first through the fifth inning. At the dish, she collected two base knocks.

🔼 There She Goes Again. Sophomore sensation Aaliyah Murphy is at it again.

After another record-setting performance this past weekend at Penn Relays, Murphy was selected as the Sun Belt Female Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.

Murphy ran a blazing 58.71 in the 400m hurdles this past weekend, which is good for the second fastest time in the conference.

🔼 Pair To Praise. This week, the Sun Belt announced its annual tennis awards with a pair of Trojans earning all-conference recognition.

Maria Guirguis was named to the Singles First Team after leading Troy with a 14-3 record on Court 1 this season.

Guirguis also earned Doubles Second Team honors alongside fellow senior Valeriia Avdeeva. The Trojans' top pair, the duo finished the spring 11-5 on Court 1 and posted a 5-3 mark in conference play, including wins over South Alabama, Arkansas State and Georgia Southern.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore sensation Ella Cunningham, who picked up her third complete game in Thursday’s 4-2 win at Coastal Carolina. Not only did she pick up the win in the circle, but she also added two hits at the plate as well.
