🔼 Eight Is Great. The legendary Bobby Cox of the Atlanta Braves used to talk about the importance of just winning each series.
If that’s the case, the 18th-ranked Troy baseball squad is in great shape as they picked up their eighth series victory of the season, taking two-of-three from ODU to kick off their seven-game road swing through Virginia.
On Friday, the Trojans used the right arm of Garrett Gainous to cruise to a 7-0 victory in the series opener.
Saturday, it was Noah Edders turn to lead the way, pitching the Trojans past the Monarchs in the 4-3 series clincher.

🔼 What A Run. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” - Dr. Seuss
Couldn’t find a better way to sum up the magical past few weeks for the Troy women’s basketball team as the Trojans fought their way all the way to the WNIT Championship, falling 88-84 to Buffalo on Saturday afternoon in yet another epic clash.
Troy made their run in record-setting fashion, scoring the most points EVER for any WNIT team with 453 in five games. The previous record was held by Wyoming, who scored 452 in six games.
Despite the loss, Zay Dyer and Briana Peguero were honored as members of the WNIT All-Tournament team with 16.6 and 16 points per game, respectively.
In the championship game, Dyer led all Trojans with her 18th double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds as six players ended with double-figures. Troy shot 50 percent from the field as Khila Morris (11), Emani Jenkins (11), Shaulana Wagner (10), Brianna Jackson (10) and Fortuna Ngnawo (10) ended with 10-plus points.

🔼 History Makers. Any time you achieve something that’s never been done, it’s a weekend to remember.
That was the case for the Troy softball squad, who picked up its first-ever series victory over Louisiana, taking the first two games from the Ragin’ Cajuns, 5-4 and 6-5 to take the three-game set.
Mia Tidmore and Cassidy Boltz both finished with five hits over the weekend to lead the offensive attack for the Trojans.

🔼 Holding Court. Who doesn’t love a little spring cleaning?
The Troy tennis squads look like they do as both programs did some sweeping this past weekend with the Trojans going a combined 4-0 in Sun Belt play on Saturday and Sunday.
On the women’s side, Troy battled their way past Arkansas State (4-3) on Saturday and swept ULM (4-0) on Sunday to improve to 5-3 in the league play.
For the men, the Trojans hit the road and swept Southern Miss (4-0) on Saturday and battled past Louisiana on Sunday (4-3).
