🏀 GOING TO THE ‘SHIP

To earn a spot in the WNIT Championship game, the Troy women’s
hoops squad dialed up and connected from long distance.

In an offensive explosion, the Trojans knocked down 13 3-pointers in a
99-96 thriller at Illinois State on Wednesday night to set up the
WNIT Championship game in Buffalo on Saturday afternoon at 4 pm.

It’s tough to find someone playing better than Briana Peguero right now
as she posted a career-high for the second straight game, knocking down
six three-pointers en route to 28 points in the win.

For the fifth straight game, five Trojans finished in double-figures as
Fortuna Ngnawo continued her WNIT run with 16 points. Emani Jenkins
trailed Peguero by one triple as she scored all five of her buckets from deep for 15 points. Zay Dyer (13), Brianna Jackson (11) and Ashley Baez (10) also finished with 10-plus points en route to the Fab 4 victory.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Home Sweet Home. For the only time this year, the Troy community has a chance to support the Trojan Track & Field squad with the Doc Anderson Multi & Track Invitational set to get underway later today at Jesse H. Colley Track.

Troy opens its meet on Friday at 11 a.m. with the men's hammer throw, and the day concludes at 5:15 p.m. via the men's and women's 200m and 5000m. Meanwhile, Saturday opens with the decathlon events at 10 a.m. and goes until the 4x400m relay on the women's side at 6:25 p.m.

The 14 programs that will compete against the Trojans are West Florida, Alabama State, Alabama Huntsville, AUM, Huntingdon, Marion Military Academy, Thomas, Mercer, Miles, Montevallo, Spring Hill, Tulane, Tuskegee and UAB.

🔼 Run Rattlers. For the fifth time this season, the 18th-ranked Troy baseball team rolled to a run-rule victory, toppling visiting Florida A&M 13-3 on Wednesday afternoon at Riddle-Pace Field.

Senior Steven Meier was the star of the show for the Trojans, reaching in all six of his plate appearances. Meier went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run in the second inning while adding two walks and two HBPs.

The Troy offense tallied ten hits and recorded their fifth double-digit walk game of the season with 12 free passes. Both Sean Darnell and Jimmy Janicki finished the afternoon going 2-for-3 with three RBIs each.

🔼 Slugging Their Way Home. Before returning home for a weekend Sun Belt series against Louisiana, the Troy softball team decided to bust out the offense one more time.

The Trojans bashed their way to a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday, rolling past West Georgia with a 9-2 and 14-2 victory.

Taylor McKinney was the star of show, finishing the day going 3-for-6 with 10 RBIs, three HRs, four runs scored and three walks.

In game two, McKinney's six RBIs were the most a Trojan has recorded in a game since Bailey Taylor drove in six on Feb. 17, 2019, at Saint Joseph's.

Troy fans who purchase or renew their 2025 football season tickets by May 1 will receive a limited-edition Larry Blakeney Bobblehead to celebrate the legendary head coach's selection into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Season ticket prices start as low as $75 for Troy's six home games, as prices remain the same across all levels for a third straight season. Troy's home slate features games against South Alabama, Memphis, Georgia State, Louisiana, Arkansas State and Nicholls.

Blakeney, Troy's all-time winningest coach, was selected for enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame in January and will officially be inducted in a ceremony in Las Vegas in December.
