🔼 Tourney Time. All the extra work. All the early mornings. It’s all built up to this.

The postseason has arrived for the Troy men’s tennis team, who will enter this week’s Sun Belt Tournament as one of the hottest teams in the country, winning their last 14 straight matches.

At 22-4, the Trojans enter as the #2 seed in this week’s tournament in Rome, Ga., and will square off with Southern Miss on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals.

🔼 Among The Elite. The Troy men's golf team continued its strong finish to the spring season, finishing sixth at the Mossy Oak Collegiate in a field that featured three teams ranked inside the top-20 and 10 ranked inside the top-75.

The Trojans knocked off a quartet of Sun Belt foes – South Alabama, Southern Miss, Coastal Carolina and ULM – and picked up additional wins over Kansas State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee and Rice, among others.

Freshman Thomas Crane raced out to a 4-under following his first 10 holes of the day before settling at even-par for the round and the tournament, good for a tie for 18th place.

🔼 National Notoriety. Following a dominant week on the mound and a productive week at the plate, Troy's Drew Nelson was named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week.

The award honors the top two-way player in college baseball each week. Earlier this season, Nelson was named to the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List.

In two appearances on the mound last week, the Troy senior pitched five hitless innings, striking out six hitters to just one walk. At the plate, Nelson batted .267 across four starts with two walks, six RBIs and three runs scored.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is freshman men’s golfer Thomas Crane, who recorded 14 birdies at this week’s Mossy Oak Collegiate, to notch a top-20 finish amongst a loaded field.
