🔼 Sluggin’ Saturday. 27 runs. 32 hits. That’s not a bad day at the plate, huh?

That’s what the Troy baseball squad put together in a road doubleheader sweep of Texas State on Saturday to take the Sun Belt series from the Bobcats.

The Trojans homered three times in both games of the double dip, marking the first time they’ve hit three-plus HRs in back-to-back games since April 26-27, 2024.

In game two, Troy pounded out 19 hits, the most in a single game since they racked up 19 against SIU-Edwardsville on February 17, 2024. It was Troy's most in a Sun Belt game since recording 19 hits against Georgia Southern on May 6, 2023.

⚾️ The Doubleheader Recap

🔼 Senior Salutin’. No better way to salute your lone senior than accomplish something that happened been done in over a decade, right?

Prior to Saturday’s action at Lunsford Tennis Complex, the Troy men’s tennis program honored its lone senior, Yeray Andres Pastor.

The Trojans then honored him again on the court with back-to-back 7-0 sweeps of Tuskegee and Eastern Florida State to reach 21-4 on the season. It marks the highest single-season win total since the 2014-15 campaign.

Troy rides a 14-match win streak into this week’s Sun Belt Tournament in Rome, Ga.

🔼 Weekend Work. While most of us were using a beautiful weather weekend to catch some down time, the Troy track and field squad put in work during two days of competition at the Dick Roberts Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee.

Highlighting the action was the javelin crew of Whitney Clark and Tyler McKinnell who both not only threw personal bests, but also won the event. Carlee Craft finished second to Clark with a personal best of her own.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore catcher Jimmy Janicki, who led the Troy offense in a doubleheader sweep of Texas State on Saturday. Janicki finished 6-for-10 with five RBIs and four runs scored in the two games. He is currently hitting .333 with nine HRs and 42 RBIs this year for the Trojans.

🏈 LADIES NIGHT

The 14th annual Troy Football Women's Clinic, presented by Troy Regional Medical Center, is set for Thursday, May 28, from 5:30-8 p.m., hosted by Gerad and Kandi Parker.

Admission is $30 and includes a Women's Football Clinic t-shirt, light snacks and drinks. Participants will receive a behind-the-scenes look at the Troy Football program, get the inside scoop on the 2026 Trojans from members of the coaching staff, go through on-field drills, and other exclusive programming just for this event. Ladies are encouraged to wear comfortable Troy clothing for the event.
