🔼 They’ree Bacckkk. Coming off a historic 2024-25 campaign, the Troy women’s hoops squad is loading up for another run next year and got some key pieces of the puzzle back this week.
First-team All Sun Belt honoree Zay Dyer, along with rising seniors Emani Jenkins and Fortuna Ngnawo, in addition to rising junior Leilani Guion, all announced that they would be returning to the Trojans for next season.
Dyer had a record-breaking season with a single-season school record for rebounds (395) and totaled 18 double-doubles on the season. She finished the year averaging 13.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game for the Trojans.
Jenkins and Ngnawo were critical pieces off the bench for Troy all season long, combining to average 17.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Guion reached double-figures five times last season, finishing the year averaging 5.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

🔼 Freaky Fast. Not one, not two, but three first-place finishes on a busy weekend for Troy track & field standout Shanyah Washington.
That performance landed her the Sun Belt Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week accolades on Wednesday.
Washington took home three first-place finishes at the Doc Anderson Invitational in sprint events. Her top performance came in the women's 200m, where she secured a personal best at 23.72. She also took home a first-place finish in the 100m dash, timing at 11.20 to rank 17th in the USTFCCCA.

🔼 No Runs For You. Not sure if Alyssa Faircloth is a fan of the Seinfield, but she was denying opposing hitters all day on Wednesday.
The southpaw carved up Alabama State to help lead the Troy softball team to its fifth win in the past six games, taking down ASU, 4-0.
Faircloth shut down the Hornets from the circle, punching out four batters over her five innings of work. The Troy ace allowed only three hits during her outing. Mya Holt entered the game in relief and finished Troy's eighth shutout of the season.
Makaley Boswell was a force to be reckoned with out of the leadoff spot, going 2-for-4, with a HR and double.
In her hometown, Taylor McKinney had a perfect night – she went 2-for-2 with two walks to continue a 26-game on-base streak. Reaghan Oney was the other Trojan to get multiple hits, as she hit a double and a triple en route to a 2-for-3 performance.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore Makaley Boswell, who ripped off a multi-hit performance in Troy’s 4-0 win at Alabama State on Wednesday. With two hits out of the leadoff spot, she led the way offensively, including launching her fifth HR of the season.
