The Troy men’s hoops team rolled into its second straight Sun Belt title game with a 78-70 victory over Southern Miss behind a 22-point performance from senior Jerrell Bellamy.
With the win, the Trojans are set to take on 10th-seeded Georgia Southern for the chance for the program’s first-ever back-to-back conference championships.
Tip time tonight on ESPN2 is set for 6 pm.
🔼 Not Going Anywhere. The Troy women’s hoops team wanted one more day in Pensacola.
The second-seeded Trojans punched their ticket to today’s Sun Belt Championship game with an 83-73 victory over third-seeded Arkansas State on Sunday afternoon.
Troy has a chance to win its fourth SBC championship this afternoon and the fifth-ever in program history. The Trojans last won the title in 2021.
Leading the way yet again was Zay Dyer, who finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds for her 23rd double-double of the season and 15th straight.
🔼 Fly Like An Eagle. In its final non-conference weekend of the season, the Troy softball team took home a series victory at Florida Gulf Coast, taking home a 7-0 win in the opener and a thrilling 5-4 win in the finale.
The Trojans pounded out 25 hits in the three games, while Troy hurlers allowed just five earned runs on the weekend.
🔼 No Place Like Home. There’s truly no place like home for the Troy men’s tennis squad.
The Trojans stayed perfect on their home court this spring with a dominant 7-0 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday afternoon. With the victory, Troy improves to 8-0 at home.
Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is senior Zay Dyer, who continued her dominant season with 24 points and 10 rebounds in the semifinal victory. On her sixth rebound, Dyer joined the 1,000-rebound club at Troy, becoming the first player in Division-I history and fourth all-time to join the 1,000-point, 1,000-rebound club. Before that, on her second rebound, she broke her own single-season rebound record with her 396th rebound.

With eight more rebounds in the semifinal win over Southern Miss, Thomas Dowd extended his single-season record to 321 boards this year.
In his three seasons at Troy, Dowd has piled up 725 boards becoming just the third Trojan in the Division I era to reach 700+ rebounds.
