Who doesn’t love a little net cutting in March?

Join the entire Troy family TONIGHT at Trojan Arena as Troy Athletics is proud to host a Men’s Basketball Championship Celebration.

The team will take part in a net cutting ceremony at 7:30 p.m., and fans will have the chance to hear from head coach Scott Cross. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and admission to the event is free of charge.

Joining the men's basketball team will be the Sound of the South Pep Band, Troy Cheerleaders and T-Roy.

That’s not a bad way to spend a Friday night in Hattiesburg.

Troy men’s hoops earned its first share of the Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship since 2009-10 with a decisive 70-58 victory over Southern Miss.

The Trojans are the only Sun Belt team to have have won 20 or more games in each of the last four seasons. The victory also marked the 100th in Coach Cross' tenure at Troy, which dates back to 2019.

Myles Rigsby shined with a career-high 25 points on 7-13 shooting. Thomas Dowd added a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Tayton Conerway also had 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals.

On Conerway's third steal of the night, he set a new program record for steals in a single season and now enters postseason play with 91.

That might be the line used for the 20th-ranked Troy baseball squad, who picked up its third straight weekend sweep at home and have now won eight straight to sit at 11-1 this year.

It was the offense who led the way the first two games with victories of 11-1 and 10-9, while the pitching took the lead on Sunday in a 6-1 sweep-clinching performance.

Troy women’s hoops will have a nice little break entering this week’s Sun Belt Tournament action as the Trojans finished with the #3 seed for this week’s event in Pensacola.

Automatically in the quarterfinals, Troy will wait until 2:30 on Saturday for its first action and with a victory would take on second-seeded Arkansas State on Sunday in the semifinals.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is standout sophomore Myles Rigsby who had a championship clinching performance for the Troy men’s hoops team on Friday night. Rigsby poured in 25 points on 7-of-13 shooting in the road win at Southern Miss to help the Trojans clinch a share of the Sun Belt regular season title.
