On Thursday night, the Trojans women’s hoops squad marched their way into the Great 8 of the WNIT in an absolute classic.

🔼 Marchin’ On. Trojan Arena enjoyed one more night of thrilling action on Thursday.

Ashley Baez hit two free throws with two-tenths of a second remaining in overtime to lift Troy past North Texas, 88-86, in the WNIT Sweet 16 and into the Great 8 for the second straight season.
 
The Trojans (22-13) trailed by six, 86-80, with 2:06 remaining in overtime after a Kyla Deck 3-pointer. From that point on, Troy scored the game's final eight points, including six from Briana Peguero, who hit a 3-pointer at the 1:52 mark and then an old-fashioned 3-point play with 23 seconds remaining.

Zay Dyer posted her 17^th double-double of the season, scoring 23 points and pulling down 13 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Her rebound tally pushed her season total to 363, a new Troy single-season record. 

The Trojans will now take on North Dakota State on Monday at 7 p.m. (CT) in Fargo, N.D. A victory over the Bison would land Troy in the WNIT Fab 4 for a second straight season against the winner of Monday's Illinois State and Louisiana Tech contest.

🔼 Stayin’ Kuehl. Despite an early deficit, the 17th-ranked Troy baseball program stayed “Kuehl”.

Two longballs from junior Dillon Kuehl, including the eventual-game winner, helped the Trojans to a come-from-behind road win at Florida A&M on Wednesday evening.

Kuehl finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Sean Darnell added a three-hit game himself. Brooks Bryan was the third Trojan with a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-4 with a HR on the night.

The Trojans comeback couldn't be complete without a dominant showing from the bullpen. Troy relievers pieced together 9.0 innings of relief with just two earned runs.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is senior guard Briana Peguero, who scored six of her 14 points in the final 1:52 of overtime to help lift the Trojans into the Great 8 of the WNIT. With Troy down 86-80, Peguero drilled a 3-pointer and connected on an old-fashioned 3-point play with under 23 seconds left to tie the game and set the table for victory in the final seconds.

⚔️ AMONG THE LEGENDS

With the 2025 Troy football spring practice in full effect, Troy Athletics finalized the festivities for T-Day, which includes the annual Lunch with Legends panel that's packed with Troy greats before kickoff on Saturday, April 12.

In partnership with The Vance Law Firm, T-Day will kickoff at 2 p.m. with free admission for all fans. The day kicks off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Troy's annual Lunch with Legends featuring Richard Shaughnessy, Lawrence Tynes, DeWhitt Betterson Sr. and Corey Robinson. Between that, the free Youth Football Clinic (All children aged 5-12) starts at 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. with check-in at Gate 1 (South Concourse), starting at 11:15 a.m.
