Grab some lunch and check out the men in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Nebraska at 11 am. Then, come on back for dinner and root on the women as they battle Kansas in the first round of the WBIT at 6:30 pm.

🔼 Stay Hot. Watch out folks, they’re heating up.

The offense of the Troy baseball team continued to stay hot on Tuesday evening, pounding out 10 hits en route to an 11-2 victory over Alabama State. The win is the third straight for the Trojans, who are headed to Hattiesburg to battle 12th-ranked Southern Miss this weekend.

Just a few hours after being named Sun Belt Player of the Week, Jimmy Janicki had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored to pace the offensive attack. Freshman Matt Dill tossed four strong innings, allowing just one run in his first career start.

🔼 Back On Track. The Troy softball team returned to the win column on Tuesday afternoon, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead and never looking back en route to a 5-0 road victory at Samford.

Leading the way, once again, was Ella Cunningham, who tossed her first collegiate shutout, striking out six and scattering three hits over seven innings of work. She also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the plate for the Trojans.

Freshman Presley Ivey finished the game with two hits, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a steal. Adding doubles for the Trojans were Kiley Huffman and Dailynn Motes. Six different Trojans recorded hits, and four more reached safely in the team effort.

🔼 Finishing Strong. The Troy women’s tennis team is heading into conference play on a high note.

On Tuesday, the Trojans rolled past Nicholls, 4-0, to pick up their sixth victory of the season.

Troy now heads back home for a pair of Sun Belt matches this weekend with Texas State (Friday) and Georgia State (Sunday) rolling into town.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is once again, Ella Cunningham of the Troy softball squad. The southpaw continued to shine in the circle, earning her first career shutout on Tuesday in a 5-0 win over Samford. She is now 5-1 on the season with a 3.22 ERA, while striking out 55 in 41.1 innings of work.
