🔼 Lace Up Those Dancin’ Shoes. That’s right folks, the Trojans are headed back to the Big Dance!

For the first time since 2017, the Troy men's basketball team is heading to the NCAA Tournament, as it clinched a berth after defeating Arkansas State, 94-81, in the Sun Belt Tournament Championship game on Monday night.

The Trojans used a huge final 10 minutes of the game to overcome an eight-point deficit and clinch its third trip to the tournament in program history. The Trojans outscored ASU 36-15 over the final 10:07 to pick up its third win over the last three days. All of Troy's tournament wins came by 13 points or more.

Sun Belt Player of the Year Tayton Conerway exploded for 16 second half points, which all came during Troy's huge run to close out the game. Conerway was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after recording a game-high 21 points and grabbing six rebounds. Conerway averaged 20.3 points over Troy's three tournament victories. 

Myles Rigsby also shined for Troy with 20 points on 5-10 shooting.

🔼 Stayin’ Hot. Coming off its second tournament victory of the season, the Troy men’s golf team stayed hot with yet another strong performance, pulling in a second place finish at the Seminole Intercollegiate, among a field loaded with teams in the national rankings.

Troy finished the week at 11-under as a team, second only to No. 15 Florida State's 23-under. The Trojans finished 33 shots ahead of No. 51 Arkansas, 32 shots better than No. 55 Furman and eight shots in front of No. 56 Florida Gulf Coast.
 
Reigning Sun Belt Men's Golfer of the Week Brantley Scott made a case for back-to-back awards as he finished second at 10-under, including a program record 62 (8-under) in Monday's second round. Since returning from injury, Scott has played seven consecutive rounds at par or lower, with four of those coming in the red.

🔼 Not Done Yet. The Troy men’s hoops team isn’t the only one that punched a ticket to the postseason.

After posting yet another 20 win season and a spot in the Sun Belt semifinals, the Trojans women’s hoops squad earned an automatic bid to the upcoming postseason WNIT.

The 64-team field will be announced next Monday night.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, of course, Sun Belt Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player Tayton Conerway. Not only did he average over 20 points per game in the three games in Pensacola, Conerway’s biggest performance came when the Trojans needed it the most, scoring 16 second-half points to help Troy to the Sun Belt title and back to the Big Dance.
