That’s all that separates the Troy basketball squads from securing a share of the Sun Belt regular season titles. Entering tonight, both the men and women are locked in a tie atop their respective standings.

First, the women hit the floor at South Alabama for a 5 p.m. tip. Sitting at 15-2 in league play, the Trojans are tied with Georgia Southern, who play at Marshall at the same time.

At 6 pm, the men’s squad plays its final regular season home game at Trojan Arena with ULM in town. A victory would clinch at least a share of the regular season with Troy currently tied with App State, South Alabama and Marshall atop the league standings.

🔼 Top Dog. History was made this week as freshman Matt Dill clutch pitching helped Troy to its first win over a top-10 opponent since 2017 on Wednesday with a thrilling 6-5 defeat of #8 Georgia.

Making his second appearance of the season, the right-hander entered with a pair of runners on in the bottom of the tenth, getting a flyout and a weak tapper to the catcher to strand them. The Dayton, Tenn., native got out of a bases-loaded jam in the 11th with an inning-ending strikeout to Ty Peeples in the 11th and went back out with the lead in the 12th, putting the Bulldogs down 1-2-3.

Offensively, Blake Cavill led the way with two hits, including his second HR of the season, while Nolan Book, Jimmy Janicki and Drew Nelson all had multi-hit performances for the Trojans.
