🔼 The Closers. With the score tied at 63 with just under nine minutes left in the game, the Troy women's basketball squad kicked it into high gear, outscoring Coastal Carolina, 25-14 in the remaining minutes to pull away with a 88-77 victory on Friday afternoon.

Of the Trojans' 18 victories, 13 have come by double-digits as they defeat the Chanticleers for the fourth straight time and fifth consecutive time on the road.

Ashley Baez tied her career-high of 20 points on 4-of-7 from the field, 9-of-10 at the charity stripe and three 3-pointers. She also had a team-high four steals and four assists. Troy had a trio of players end with 10 or more rebounds as Rachel Leggett led the team with 13, followed by Fortuna Ngnawo and Zay Dyer with 10 apiece. Ngnawo and Dyer also claimed double-doubles with 15 and 13 points, respectively.

🔼 Wrecking Records. Before winter weather hit some of the southern states, the Troy Track & Field squad heated up the track to the tune of three new school records at the Bob Pollock Invitational at Clemson.

The quartet of Romario Taylor, Antonio Blair, Dawson Isbell and Devyn Pearman set a new school record in the men's 4x400 with a time of 3:15.49, surpassing the previous mark of 3:16.98. 

Lane Watson shattered a 10-year-old record in the men's 5,000 meters, clocking a time of 15:17.10 to break the previous mark of 15:46.47 by 29 seconds. Patterson Graham also set a school record in the men's mile with a time of 4:22.28.

🔼 Oh What A Night. With first pitch less than two weeks away, there was no better way for the Troy Baseball team to get ready for the 2026 season than the Fourth Annual Troy Baseball Women’s Clinic presented by Troy Regional Medical Center this past Friday night.

The event began in the Unger Family RBI Club and allowed the attendees to partake in many baseball activities on and off Riddle-Pace Field, including pitching, hitting and defensive drills.

Attendees also had the opportunity to dawn the Cardinal and White and have photo shoots in official Troy baseball game uniforms. Then, the ladies will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the weight room and baseball facility while learning about the technology used during practice and games to help develop players' abilities.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, women’s basketball senior guard Ashley Baez, who tied a career-high with 20 points in Troy’s road win at Coastal Carolina on Friday. Baez went 4-for-7 from the field, including three 3-points, while knocking down 9-of-10 from the charity stripe.
