Men's Hoops Wins Thriller at Arkansas State, Moves Into Tie For First Place In Sun Belt

🔼 View From The Top. Playing on national TV with a halftime deficit against a team that had yet to lose at home all season, the deck was stacked against the Troy men’s hoops squad.

But that’s when the Trojans went to work, led by Jackson Fields, who’s career-night led Troy to a thrilling 71-70 stunner over Arkansas State on Saturday night.

With the victory, Troy is now in a four-way tie for the top spot in the Sun Belt standings with four games to play.

Fields scored a career-best 20 points, highlighted by a career-best five three-pointers to help snap the Red Wolves’ 15-game home winning streak.

🔼 Sweet Sweepin’. It may be a different calendar year, but the offensive firepower of the Troy baseball squad is the same.

The Trojans opened up their 2025 campaign in sweeping fashion, taking all three games from visiting Bellarmine by the scores of 23-6, 7-3 and 7-3.

On the weekend, Troy scored 37 runs, while pounding out 32 hits and blasting six HRs in the three games.

11 different Trojan hurlers took the mound on the weekend, limiting Bellarmine to eight earned runs in the three games, while striking out 32.

🔼 Senior Salute. No better way to send off the seniors than in dominating style.

That’s what the Troy women’s hoops team did on Saturday, defending their home turf yet again with a 86-59 blowout of Southern Miss. The victory keeps the Trojans just two games back of a top-two seed in next month’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Ten of the 11 players that checked in for Troy, including all the seniors, ended in the scoring column as Brianna Jackson led the way with 17 points and two steals. Zay Dyer followed her with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while Khila Morris (11 pts) had her second straight game in double-figures. Overall, the Trojans shot 53.2 percent from the floor for their second-best shooting performance of the season.

🔼 Four Of A Kind. The winning kept on coming for the Trojans, including on the softball diamond, where Troy picked up four wins on yet another busy weekend at Troy Softball Complex.

Outscoring opponents 44-16, Troy won four of their five games on the weekend to improve to 7-3 on the young 2025 season.
