🔼 Diamond Dazzling. The Troy softball squad kicked off their annual Cardinal Clash weekend with a thriller on Thursday.

Behind a dazzling performance in the circle from Alyssa Faircloth, the Trojans earned a 4-2 victory over Southeast Missouri to kick off the five-game weekend.

Faircloth tossed four innings, striking out eight and allowing just two hits and no runs. Offensively, Cassidy Boltz went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI on the night.

🔼 Road Warriors. The Troy men’s hoops team is doing exactly what it needs to heading down the stretch with the Sun Belt Tournament just a few weeks away.

On Wednesday night, the Trojans used big performances from Thomas Dowd and Marcus Rigby to roll to a 74-56 road victory at Louisiana.

With the win, Troy moves to 9-4 in Sun Belt action and sets up a showdown with first-place Arkansas State on Saturday.

Dowd had a season-high in points (19) and rebounds (12) to record his first double-double of the season and the second of his career. He and Rigsby were key to the Trojans pulling away in the second half, as both players had 15 of their 19 points in the final 20 minutes.

The Troy women’s basketball team once again defended its home turf, using a dominant second half to roll to an 84-71 victory over visiting ULM, the 14th straight win over the Warhawks.

With the win, the Trojans move into sole possession of third in the Sun Belt and are a perfect 6-0 in league games at home this season.

Khila Morris was huge off the bench, scoring 16 points on 5-of-5 from the field, becoming the first Trojan in nine years to 100-percent from the field in a game (min. five shots). Brianna Jackson equaled Morris with 16 points as well and has now scored in double-figures in seven of her past eight games.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore hoops star, Thomas Dowd. Scoring 15 of his 19 points in the second half, Dowd helps the Trojans past Louisiana, while picking up his second career double-double, finishing with 19 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.
