🔼 Phase 10. Some things that were happening the last time Troy women’s hoops start 10-1: President George Bush (the original) was in office, Beauty and the Beast was ruling the box office, a gallon of gas was $1.07, and Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” topped the Billboard charts.
Safe to say, it’s been a while. Until now.
The Trojans tied the best start in program history on Wednesday with a dominant road win over Old Dominion, 81-59, using a 17-0 run to take complete control of the contest.
Zay Dyer and Fortuna Ngnawo combined for 40 points, 31 rebounds and six steals, each recording a double-double. Dyer finished three points shy of her career-high with 25 points to on 9-of-18 shooting and added 15 rebounds. Ngnawo grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds while posting 15 points on 7-of-10 at the free throw line.
🔼 He Is A Real (All)-American. The resume of junior Evan Crenshaw of the Troy football program is getting quite lengthy.
This week, Crenshaw was named to the Sporting News All-America First Team after a season in which he was a finalist for the Ray Guy Award and earned Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Year honors.
He is the first Trojan to earn first team All-America honors from one of the NCAA's consensus All-America selectors since 2007.
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., Crenshaw averaged 45.7 yards per punt during the 2025 season, the second-highest single-season average in program history (on 43 more attempts than the top average of 46.1 yards). He placed 29 of his 68 punts inside the 20-yard line, the most in the nation, and recorded 21 punts of 50 yards or longer.
🔼 Called To The Hall. An integral part of the Troy athletic department got a special call this week.
Troy Senior Woman Administrator and Associate Athletics Director Dr. Hilary Parkin has been selected to be inducted into the Converse Athletics Hall of Fame, the school announced Wednesday.
Parkin, a 2012 graduate of Converse University in Spartanburg, S.C., is the first women's soccer athlete to be inducted into the Converse Athletics Hall of Fame. Parkin was a member of the Converse soccer team from 2008-2012 and was a three-time team Captain for the Valkyries.
