🔼 Let’s Go Bowling. The preparation is over. Tomorrow, it’s go time.
Coming off its third Sun Belt Championship Game appearance in the last four seasons, Troy is set to take on Jacksonville State in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl tomorrow night in Montgomery, Ala., at 8 p.m. at The Historic Cramton Bowl.
It is the first meeting between Troy and Jacksonville State since 2001 and the 64th all-time between the two programs, by far the most against any opponent in school history. Troy has won seven consecutive games in the series entering tomorrow night.
🔼 Blazed ‘Em. With under a second left on the clock, Thomas Dowd banked in a putback layup at the buzzer to lift Troy to a gutsy road win over UAB, 86-85, on Sunday afternoon.
Dowd had missed the front end of a one-and-one moments earlier, a chance for Troy to extend its lead to three with 12 seconds remaining.
Victor Valdes capped off his dominant week with a 26-point, five assist, three rebound, three steal performance to lead the way for Troy. Cooper Campbell was outstanding, finishing one assist shy of a double-double with 14 points and nine assists.
🔼 Setting The Slate. The Troy softball program announced its 2026 schedule, highlighted by three home tournaments to kick off the season, a tournament at Auburn with an invitation for the Tigers to close nonconference play and a road series at the defending Sun Belt Champions, Coastal Carolina, to close the regular season.
Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, junior Thomas Dowd, who provided the heroics in Sunday’s thrilling road win at UAB. Dowd’s putback layup as time expired gave the Trojans the win and capped off his day, which finished with 11 points and six rebounds, but none bigger than the final rebound and final two points.
