🔼 Feelin’ 100. For the 12th time in the 15-year head coaching tenure of Chanda Rigby at Troy, the Trojans were victorious in their home opener with a dominant 104-36 performance over visiting Thomas on Thursday night.
The Trojans start 2-0 for the seventh time under Rigby, while scoring triple digits (104) for the 42nd time under her leadership.
Troy had five players in double figures, led by first-year Hannah Smith, who ended the night with 26 points on 9-of-18 from the floor. She also had six rebounds and four steals. Aniya Hubbard (13), Kimora Hughes (13), Saniya Jackson (11) and Riana Callihan (10) also ended with 10-plus points. Jackson also tied 11 players with the fifth-most steals in a D-I single game at Troy with seven. The second-year guard also tied a career-high with seven rebounds and set one with seven assists.
🔼 No Place Like Home(coming). Coming off its biggest victory of the season, Troy now faces the Sun Belt’s hottest team when Louisiana Tech visits The Vet for Homecoming Saturday.
It is the first-ever meeting between the Trojans and Bulldogs, who bring a five-game winning streak into the showdown.
Troy is 3-1 at home this season and is looking to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the Sun Belt West Division.
Kickoff on ESPN+ is set for 3 p.m.
🔼 Save The Dates. Coming off a historic 2026 season which saw the Troy baseball program reach its first-ever College World Series, the Trojans unveiled its 2027 slate this week.
The schedule features 58 regular-season games, highlighted by 10 Sun Belt Conference series and 15 opponents ranked inside the top 100 of the NCAA's final RPI last season.
Troy's schedule features seven teams that reached the 2026 NCAA Tournament, highlighted by a pair of matchups against fellow College World Series participant Alabama. The two programs split their two regular-season meetings last year.
🔼 Mark Your Calendars. The sixth annual Troy Athletics First Pitch Banquet presented by Rick and Shari Smith is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22, 2027, and will once again be held in Trojan Arena.
The First Pitch Banquet serves as the annual kickoff for the Troy baseball and softball programs. Fans in attendance will have the exclusive opportunity to meet and interact with the players and coaches from both teams.
