🔼 Starting Strong. The start to the 2024-25 season couldn't have gone any better for the Troy men's basketball team, as it cruised to a resounding 84-74 win over Toledo in the MAC-SBC Challenge on Monday night in Trojan Arena. Sophomore Myles Rigsby had 12 points on the night on an extremely efficient 5-7 shooting, while also recording six rebounds, two steals and two blocks. On defense, the Trojans held the Rockets to 40.6 percent shooting and 3-17 from the 3-point line.

🔼 Weekly Recognition. Following his performance against the Chanticleers, junior running back Damien Taylor was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The standout Trojan rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries in Troy's victory over Coastal Carolina at The Vet. He averaged 6.8 yards per carry and scored on a 41-yard run midway through the third quarter to extend Troy's lead out to 35-17.

🔼 A Fight To The End. Despite excellent play from multiple newcomers, the Troy women's basketball team was plagued with foul trouble to come up short in its season opener to Buffalo, 80-78, on Monday night. Fortuna Ngnawo came off the bench to lead Troy with her first double-double, going a perfect 4-of-4 in the field for 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Briana Peguero (team-high 15 points), Ashley Baez and Brianna Jackson also impressed in their debuts, with Peguero setting a career-high in triples (5), Baez scoring 14 points and Jackson rejecting a career-high six blocks.
