🔼 They’re Backkkk. After a historic 2024-25 season, the Troy women’s hoops program returns to the court tonight at Trojan Arena.

Troy eyes its first game one win of the MAC-SBC Challenge in year three of the challenge as it faces a familiar opponent from 2024-25 in Toledo. The program's matched up in the Cherokee Tournament in Cherokee, N.C. in 2024.

The 2025-26 Preseason Polls placed Troy third. The Trojans took a league-high three preseason nods individually with Zay Dyer on the All-Sun Belt First Team, followed by Rachel Leggett on the second team and Ashley Baez on the third team.

All eyes are on No. 5 for the Trojans in Dyer as she comes off a 2024-25 season, where she earned All-Sun Belt First Team, was a two-time Sun Belt Player of the Week, and landed on both the WNIT All-Tournament Team and the 41st Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament Team. She broke Kathy Russell's single-season rebound record, which had stood since 1979-80, with 395 rebounds. Dyer averaged 13.8 points and 10.4 rebounds in 36 starts (37 games played), elevating her performance in the postseason with 16.6 points, 11 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in the WNIT.

🔼 Opening Act. The defending Sun Belt Champions are officially back tonight when they hit the court in Kent, Ohio to battle the Golden Flashes of Kent State.

Troy enters the season as the defending Sun Belt Champions, winning three games in as many days en route to an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  

The Trojans return several key pieces from that team, including Preseason Sun Belt First Team selection Thomas Dowd. Dowd is joined by four others who made at least one start last season – Cooper Campbell, Victor Valdes, Kerrington Kiel, and Theo Seng.

Troy will lean on their returning core - as well as the return of guard Cobi Campbell, who redshirted last season due to injury - to fill of several key scorers from last year’s title team.

🔼 In The Hunt. With just four games remaining in the regular season, the Troy volleyball team is right in the hunt for a spot in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament later this month.

The Trojans split their weekend at ULM and now sit one game up on the fifth and final division spot in the postseason.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore outside hitter Kalina Calvillo, who racked up her fourth straight match in double-digit kills with 10 in Troy’s 3-0 sweep of ULM on Friday night. With the victory, the Trojans remain in the postseason picture, holding onto the final division playoff spot heading into the final four regular season matches.
