🔼 Showtime. The Adam Howard era officially tips off tonight when Troy men's basketball hosts UMass in its season opener as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge.
The Trojans look to build on their sustained success, entering the season as back-to-back Sun Belt Tournament and regular season champions. Monday marks Troy's first game since falling to Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament in March. Just three players and one assistant coach return from last season's squad, but a revamped roster will look to uphold the standard established by the program in recent years.
The incoming group consists of seven transfers and five players preparing for their first season of college basketball.
Tipoff on ESPN+ is set for 6 p.m.
🔼 Opening Act. While the men’s squad is tipping off its season at Trojana Arena, the women’s squad will hit the court at the same time in a road matchup against Kent State in their edition of the SBC-MAC Challenge.
Head coach Chanda Rigby enters her 15th season leading the Trojans, who are coming off a 25-win campaign that tied the program record and included a Sun Belt Tournament championship game appearance and the program's first-ever WBIT berth.
Picked to finish third in the Sun Belt preseason poll, Troy features a revamped roster led by preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team selection Aniya Hubbard, who averaged 15.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists during her two seasons at Florida Atlantic.
Tip-off on ESPN+ is set for 6 p.m.
