📈 STOCK UP

🔼 In The Books. Troy men's tennis wrapped up its first weekend of the fall season at the Mercer Gridiron Classic on Sunday with a 2-0 doubles record and a 3-1 singles record. In doubles, Hiiro Sakamoto and Luciano Alcocer defeated the Jacksonville State duo, 6-4, in the 'Flight B' doubles east draw final, and in singles, Alcocer added his second finals win of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win.

🔼 Strong Finishes. Both cross country teams took to the Bouckeart Farm and collected top 10 finishes as the men topped the charts in sixth with 218 points while the women ended ninth at 240. For the first time in his Troy career, Lane Watson topped the charts on the men's side in his second 8k event by improving his time by nearly five seconds to time at 27:04.85 and finishing 42nd.

🔼 Closing Time. Troy women's tennis team closed out competition at the Samford Fall Invitational in strong fashion on Sunday, as it went 6-3 overall, including 4-2 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. The Trojans had a strong singles showing, as it went 5-1 in its six matches against Central Arkansas. Valeriia Avdeeva had a strong showing today with a straight-set win while Maria Guirguis also won in straight sets.

🔼 Defensive Battle. The Trojans fought hard, but dropped a competitive match on the road Sunday, falling to Louisiana 1-0. Troy’s defense led by goalkeeper Isabella Tomeo remained stout throughout the first half, but Louisiana managed to score the game's only goal in the 70th minute. The Trojan offense was led by Dolce Villaflor, who had three shots and nearly scored on a free kick in the 79th minute. The Trojans return home on Thursday to get set to host Texas State.

🔼 Staying Together. The Troy volleyball team could not contain the high-powered Texas State offense on Saturday afternoon as the Bobcats swept the Trojans. Tori Hester continues to pace the Trojan offense, recording a match-high 14 kills on .119 hitting. Amiah Butler had eight kills, while Maleah Howe added a season-high six kills.
