🔼 Final From The Vet. Texas State took advantage of several Troy miscues on Thursday night and converted them all into points, as the Bobcats defeated the Trojans, 38-17, in Sun Belt Conference action at The Vet to snap a 12-game losing streak to Troy. Tucker Kilcrease put together a career-best performance at quarterback for the Trojans while filling in for starter Goose Crowder, passing for 249 and two touchdowns. The Trojan defense, however, forced three turnovers with interceptions by Jordan Stringer and LJ Green and a fumble recovery by Trent Henry. Troy will have a chance to regroup with a bye week before heading to Mobile, Ala., to face South Alabama in the "Battle for the Belt" on Tuesday, October 15.

🔼 Battle of the Giants. After a 2-0 start in conference play, the Troy volleyball team hits the road for the first time in Sun Belt play as it heads to The Lonestar State for a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday against Texas State, who was picked to finish first in the West Division ahead of Troy. Tori Hester was dominant for Troy last weekend, as she recorded 45 kills in Troy's two wins over South Alabama while Amiah Butler has been impressive on the other side of the court, as she is fifth in the Sun Belt in total kills with 157.

🔼 Full Service. Troy tennis will begin its fall schedule this weekend with both the men’s and women’s teams in action for the first time this athletic calendar year.

🎾 The Trojan men’s tennis team is headed to Macon, Ga., to compete in the Mercer Gridiron Classic. Troy is coming off a No. 62 ranking in the ITA after accumulating a 19-7 record last season. The team opens the 2024-25 campaign by introducing two freshmen, Henrique de Brito and Hiiro Sakamoto, to complete the seven-man roster.

🎾 Troy women's tennis gears up for the beginning of its fall tournament schedule with the Samford Fall Invitational. The 2023-24 season saw the program finish at 16-7, 9-2 SBC to end as the seventh-ranked team in the ITA Southern Regional rankings and the No. 3 seed for the SBC Tournament. This year, top singles player Gabrielle Leslie returns to the team, as well as the top doubles team Hagar Ramadan-Amin and Leena Metwally.

🔼 Back On Track. After last Friday's Huntingdon 8k/6k was canceled due to the impact of Hurricane Helene, Troy travels to its first out-of-state meet of 2024 today at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational. The last time out, Keith Warner led the men for a seventh straight meet with a 96th -place finish with a new personal best for the 8k event at 25:33.88 while other Trojans on the men's side also claimed personal bests. In the 5k for the women, Alexiana Hinote continued her hot start by topping the charts for Troy for the second straight meet while fellow newcomer Arianna Elder wasn't far behind as she crossed 0.6 seconds behind Hinote.
