🔼 SBC Showdown. After playing just twice in the past 23 days, Troy Football returns to the gridiron on Saturday for a Sun Belt West Division showdown on the road against Arkansas State. The game pits the two winningest programs in Sun Belt history against each other, with Troy's 98 wins leading the way, while Arkansas State and Louisiana are second with 95. Quarterbacks Matthew Caldwell and Tucker Kilcrease will split time behind center after it was announced earlier this week that Goose Crowder will miss the remainder of the season. The Trojans have played solid defensive football, holding 5-of-7 opponents this year to fewer than 400 yards of offense.

🔼 ‘Til The Bitter End. After winning the first two sets, Troy couldn't find the elusive third set as Arkansas State stormed back to defeat the Trojans 3-2. The Trojans got double-digit kills from Amiah Butler (13), Olivia Kwiatkowski (11) and Kalina Calvillo (10). Freshman Ashlynn Axtell made her collegiate debut and started all five sets for Troy, recording two kills and three blocks.

🗣️ “They were the team that played a little bit cleaner, and now we have got to rebound and kind of get straightened back out today and try to play a little bit more consistent." - Josh Lauer, head coach

🔼 All Effort. The Troy soccer team fell 4-1 to App State on Thursday night.  Jiselle Daniels had a shot get deflected near the net, but Hailey Phillips was there for the rebound and turned garbage into gold with her second goal of the season, and the sole score for Troy on the night. The Trojans hit the road this weekend as they're set to face Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. on Sunday.

🔼 About That Time. Both Trojan basketball head coaches met with the media ahead of their 2024-25 season openers next week on Nov. 4. Hear what each program’s leader had to say about their teams as they head into regular season play.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is Troy volleyball’s Tori Hester. She led all players on Thursday night with 21 kills on .141 hitting, and her 71 attacks are a season-high for a Trojan individual. Hester has recorded 20 or more kills in four of the last five matches and extended her double-digit kill streak to 41 matches. It remains the longest-known active streak in Division I women's volleyball.
