Both teams will get the season started with the annual MAC-SBC Challenge with the men’s team hosting Toledo on Monday, Nov. 4th, while the women’s squad heads to Buffalo to battle the Bulls in the season opener.

🔼 Splitsville. After back-to-back tough weekends, the Troy volleyball squad returned home to earn a split in a home Sun Belt series with Louisiana.

In Friday’s opener, the Trojans thrilled the home crowd with a dominant 3-0 sweep of the Ragin’ Cajuns, before dropping a heartbreaker in five sets on Saturday, 3-2.

🔼 Celebrate Good Times. November 2 will be a special day at Troy.

In just two weeks, the Trojans are thrilled to welcome back the historic 1999 Southland Conference Championship team to The Vet as part of Troy’s annual Homecoming weekend when Coastal Carolina visits town.

Under the guidance of legendary head coach Larry Blakeney, the 1999 Troy State football team compiled an 11-2 record, including a 6-1 mark in conference play. The Trojans rattled off nine consecutive wins to open the season and were ranked in the Top 10 throughout the entire season. The Trojans notched wins over Cincinnati, South Florida, Middle Tennessee State, Jacksonville State and James Madison throughout the regular season and NCAA FCS Playoffs.

During the game, the members of the 1999 Southland Conference championship team will be honored on the field to celebrate their historic season.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is volleyball’s Janelle Stuempfig, who over the weekend against Louisiana notched her 1,500th career assist for the Trojans.
