🔼 Taking Home A Title. Jake Springer fired the fourth-best round in Troy men's golf history en route to winning individual medalist honors at the Everett Buick GMC Classic as play wrapped Tuesday at the Chanel Country Club. The Trojans finished third as a team in a strong field, including wins over a pair of Sun Belt schools. Springer carded seven birdies and 11 pars during his round of 65, just one shot off the program record. His victory is Troy's first since 2021, which at the time was the first individual win since the 2012-13 season.

🔼 Battle For The Belt. Troy put up a fight to the end in the Battle For The Belt but came up short in a 25-9 loss on the road. Devonte Ross was a bright spot of the offense, hauling in seven catches for 70 yards and the Trojans’ lone touchdown of the night. Linebackers Brendan Jackson and Jordan Stringer accounted for 6.5 TFLs, but it wasn’t enough to slow the Jaguars’ offensive attack. Troy will look to regroup for their game against Arkansas State on Oct. 26.

🔼 Fast Start. The Troy women's basketball program set the tone early by earning the second-most votes in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Polls at 169 for the second straight season – including two first-place votes. Meanwhile, Shaulana Wagner received a Preseason All-Sun Belt Second Team nod, while Zay Dyer was selected to the third team. 2024-25 sees the Trojans bring in a highly experienced roster with nine newcomers from the transfer portal to trail just James Madison in the polls. In the 12-woman roster, the Trojans have seven seniors, five juniors and zero underclassmen.

🔼 Bringing The Best. Troy men’s basketball’s Myles Rigsby and Tayton Conerway were named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Men's Basketball Team, while the Trojans were selected to finish third in the Sun Belt Coaches Preseason Poll. It's the highest the Trojans have placed since before the 2017-18 season, where they were also tabbed third with one first-place vote.

🔼 Solid Finish. Victoria Stutts fired her first under-par round as a Trojan to lead Troy women's golf in Tuesday's final round of the Lady Red Wolves Fall Classic. The Trojans finished fourth in the 17-team field, while Stutts tied for third place individually. Laura Fangmeyer recorded her second top 10 of the year after tying for sixth place at 1-over after shooting 75. Troy will tee it up one more time in the fall at The Ally hosted by Mississippi State next week.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is Trojan baseball’s Brooks Bryan. The Alabama Baseball Coaches Association announced a plethora of awards this past weekend, and Bryan was named the Division I Player of the Year after a record-setting sophomore season. Troy’s catcher was among the best in the country last season, finishing his 2024 campaign with a school-record 85 RBIs while hitting .279 with a .970 OPS and 18 home runs.
