We are less than a month away from the return of Troy hoops and this week, the Trojans celebrated the upcoming season with the annual Tip-Off Banquet at Trojan Arena.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 On The Road Again. Fresh off a huge win in the "Battle for the Belt", Troy hits the road again, heading to San Marcos, Texas, for its first Sun Belt Conference road test of the year in a showdown with Texas State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Troy has won four of its last five Sun Belt games dating back to last season, following its 31-24 overtime victory over South Alabama last weekend at The Vet. Lately, the Trojans have had the upper hand against the Bobcats (3-2, 0-1), winning 12 of the last 13 meetings in the series.

Last week, the Trojans executed one of their most balanced offensive attacks of the season in the victory over their in-state rivals last week, rushing for 217 yards and two scores while passing for 203 yards and a pair of scores. Junior quarterback Tucker Kilcrease took every snap behind center and became just the second Troy quarterback since at least 2005 to rush for more than 100 yards (102) and pass for more than 200 yards (203) in a game.

🔼 One To Go. For the second straight year, former Trojan Brandon Lockridge is right in the middle of the M:B postseason.

Lockridge started in centerfield for Milwaukee in Wednesday’s showdown with the Cubs and now he and his teammates find themselves in a win-it-all Game 5 situation this weekend.

Last season, he appeared in two games with the Padres in the NLDS against the Dodgers.

🔼 Starting Strong. On the first day of competition at the ITA Southern Regional on Thursday, the Troy men's tennis team put together a 10-2 record and saw four players advance through the singles qualifying draw to earn a place in the main draw.

The opening day featured the singles qualifying draw, with six Trojans battling to join Hiiro Sakamoto and Yeray Andres Pastor in the main draw. Stephan Tavares Noale, Luciano Alcocer, Thiago Drozdowski and Louis Boilevin each won two matches to advance – Alcocer and Boilevin bested SEC opponents in the process.

In the latest edition of Trojan Talk, Coach Parker looks back at Saturday’s win over South Alabama and previews Troy’s upcoming game at Texas State this weekend.

He is joined by running back Jordan Lovett and Taleeq Robbins on this week’s episode.
