🔼 Nice To Meet Ya, Partners. The pairings for the second round of the 2025-26 MAC-Sun Belt Basketball Challenge – a scheduling alliance between the Mid-American and Sun Belt Conferences – were announced this week.

On the men’s side, Troy will host perennial NCAA Tournament contender Akron on February 7th, while the women will travel to Ball State. The women will tip off at 1 p.m., while the men square off at 3:33 p.m.

🔼 Leading The O. Hope the scoreboard at the Vet has plenty of light bulbs on reserve because they’re going to get some work this fall!

This week, Troy Football head coach Gerad Parker announced the addition of Adam Austin to the staff as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after Austin was the architect of the highest-scoring offense in the FCS ranks this past season.

Austin just completed his second season as the offensive coordinator at Tarleton State, where the Texans led the FCS, averaging 42.4 points per game, while ranking ninth in total offense (457.6), 16th in passing yards (263.6) and 18th in rushing (193.9). In his two seasons calling plays, Tarleton averaged 36.6 points and 436.7 yards per game.

🔼 Class Acts. This week, Troy receiver Peyton Higgins and defensive lineman Jermaine Paramore were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

To be eligible, the student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have appeared in 90 percent of the institution's games or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.

🔼 Young Gun. Today marks just 30 days away from the start of the 2026 Troy softball season.

This week, one of the young guns of the Trojans’ roster was recognized as southpaw Abby Lovell was named to the D1Softball Freshman Watch List.

Lovell arrives in Troy from Northside High School in Georgia, where she racked up over 600+ strikeouts and helped capture back-to-back state championships (2022, 2023).

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is, former Troy standout Javon Solomon, who picked up his sixth multi-tackle performance in Sunday’s win for the Buffalo Bills. In his second NFL season, Solomon, racked up a career-high 17 tackles playing in all 17 games with Buffalo.
