One Troy Today 1/6: Thunderstruck!
Trojan Hoops Take Down Marshall For Pair of Conference Victories
Good Morning Trojan Fam. Sure, there may have been some fireworks on display across the world on New Year’s Eve, but the Trojan hoops squad saved some for this past Saturday, picking up not one, but ✌️ big time conference wins.

Down 12 at halftime, the Troy men's hoops squad roared back in the final 20 minutes to stun Marshall, 58-57, in Huntington on Saturday afternoon.
Tayton Conerway had the best game of his collegiate career, fueling the second-half comeback with 20 points, five steals, four rebounds and three assists. Conerway finished the night 8-15 from the field, including 4-9 from 3-point range.
🔼 House Protected. The holidays may be over, but the Troy women’s hoops squad definitely learned from all-time holiday movie character, Kevin McCallister.
The Trojans defended their house against visiting Marshall on Saturday, getting 36 points off the bench to help secure the 80-69 victory.
Briana Peguero and Khila Morris were huge off the bench, combining for 30 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals. Morris secured a career-high in points with 13 on 5-of-7 shooting. Peguero played hero for the second straight game on a team-high 17 points, going 7-of-7 from the charity stripe. She also tied a career-high with seven rebounds and three assists.
Zay Dyer secured her SBC-leading eighth double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
🔼 Eyes On The Prize. And now, the fun begins.
The NFL regular season wrapped up this weekend and now, two former Trojans have their eyes locked on hoisting the Lombardi Trophy next month.
Kimani Vidal (Chargers) and Javon Solomon (Bills) will both be a part of the postseason. Vidal and his LA teammates will travel to Houston at 4:30 pm on Saturday, while Javon and the Bills will host the Broncos on Sunday at 1 pm.
The pair of NFL rookies are looking to become the 10th Trojan in program history to play in the Super Bowl.
