🔼 The Midway Point. Tomorrow night kicks off the second half of the Sun Belt conference slate for both hoops squads, with both in prime position to make late season pushes.

The men’s squad welcomes Georgia Southern to town (6 pm), while the women’s team hits the road to battle at Arkansas State (7 pm).

Entering the second half of the year, the women sit at 7-2, just two games back of the top spot in the standings.

After the men took down Southern Miss on Monday night at Trojan Arena, they improved to 6-3 in league play and now sit in a four-way tie for second place. They are just a game back of Arkansas State, who leads the way at 7-2.

🔼 Preseason Praise. We are just a week away from the start of the 2025 Troy softball season.

Before first pitch, senior Taylor McKinney earned some preseason praise, being named the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the year by D1Softball. Her and her Trojan teammates were slated to finish third in the league by the publication.

D1Softball previously selected McKinney as the No. 10 second baseman in the country after 2024 saw her earn All-Sun Belt Second Team and NFCA All-Region First Team. She shined on the defensive end, ending the season on a .949 fielding percentage with 105 putouts, 61 assists and three double-plays in 175 chances.

🔼 Three Of Kind. What’s better than a victory Tuesday? How about a 3️⃣ victory Tuesday?

The Troy tennis squads used a beautiful Tuesday afternoon to bring home three wins over visiting West Alabama. The men’s squad swept past WAU 4-0 and 7-0, while the women’s team picked up a 6-1 victory.

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is sophomore Thomas Dowd from the men’s hoops squad. The Alabama native had his best outing of the season on Monday night in the win over Southern Miss, pouring in 15 points and grabbing nine rebounds, coming just one rebound short of his first double-double of the season. He also connected on four 3-pointers on the night.
