🔼 Glass Masters. What’s the old adage about defense and rebounding winning championships?

One thing is for sure, the Troy women’s basketball squad has the rebounding area down as the Trojans dominated the glass in Atlanta on Saturday, outboarding Georgia State, 59-26, en route to a 80-72 road win over the Panthers.

The victory is the fourth straight and fifth in the past six games as Troy became the fourth SBC team to hit double-digits in wins.

Double-double 🔟 was secured for Zay Dyer in her return to Atlanta as she led Troy in scoring (18) and rebounding (17), marking her 12th  game in double-figures for scoring.

The backcourt of Briana Peguero (17) and Ashley Baez (18) once again lit up the scoreboard, combining for 25 points on seven triples. Peguero also had her second straight game with 5-plus assists at seven, while Baez had seven rebounds (tied career-high) and two steals.

🔼 Movin’ On. Last year, he was running all over the field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Now, he’s just two wins from playing in the Super Bowl.

Former Trojan Javon Solomon and his Buffalo Bills squad advanced to the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs with a decisive 31-7 victory over Denver on Sunday.

Solomon played on the special teams units and has played in 14 of the Bills 18 games this season.

🎉 THE BIG 1-5-0!

Saturday’s victory in Atlanta lifted head coach Chandra Rigby into elite Sun Belt Conference company, earning her the 150th career league win on her resume.

The feat has only been done twice before in league history via Brian Boyer (Arkansas State – 193) and Joe Foley (Little Rock – 231).

Congrats Coach!

Today’s Trojan Top Performance, brought to you by Conecuh Sausage, is yet again, veteran forward Zay Dyer. In her return to her former school, Dyer posted another double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds, leading a dominant team effort on the glass that helped secure a fourth straight win for the Trojans.
